Uses
Asthalin-4 (Salbutamol) are indicated for the therapeutic treatment of asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema. The active ingredient in this medicine is in a class of medicines known as selective beta-2-adrenergic agonists. It acts on the beta 2 receptors in the lungs, triggering a relaxation of the smooth muscles in the airways, or to be more specific, the bronchi. As a result of this, the airways widen and the flow of air available to the patient's lungs increases.

Patients who are affected by asthma, COPD and other breathing difficulties may experience spasms of the smooth muscle in the airways (bronchospasm) and narrow airways (bronchoconstriction), which causes difficulties in airflow to the lungs. By causing the airways to open, this medicine can ease breathing problems. These tablets may be used in the treatment of other conditions which are not listed here.

Dosage and Administration
Asthalin-4 (Salbutamol) tablets are administered orally, and as a result of this will not work instantly. Therefore, it is not used for sudden asthma attacks or breathing difficulties. Patients may be prescribed a fast acting quick-relief inhaler for this purpose. The medicine content of these tablets is 4mg, and you must only take the dosage that your doctor tells you to take.

Adult patients are sometimes told to take 4mg (one tablet) 3 to 4 times per day, however, some patients may have their dosage increased. However, you must not increase you dosage unless your doctor has specifically told you to do so. It is also possible that a lower dosage, such as 2mg taken 3 to 4 times per day may be deemed suitable for some patients.

Adults taking Asthalin-4 (Salbutamol) for asthma or other conditions might experience side effects during the course of treatment, and a list of some examples is given here:

Precautions
These tablets may not be suitable for patients affected by hyperthyroidism, diabetes, disorders which cause convulsions, hypertension and cardiovascular. Doctors will need to exercise caution if treating patients in this category.

If you notice that the dosage prescribed by your doctor is not effective or if a deterioration of symptoms occurs, you must immediately seek the advice of your doctor, as this may indicate that your asthma is worsening.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.
