Uses
Lipicard (Fenofibrate) is used to lower the quantity of fatty substances (triglycerides and cholesterol), while at the same time increasing the level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL, a substance which can reduce the risk of heart disease). This drug is in a class of medications called fibrates and it works by increasing the quantity of a natural enzyme responsible for breaking down fats in the blood stream. This may also reduce the risk of pancreatitis. Doctors will normally prescribe this medication together with a diet plan and exercise programme.
