Uses
Norwayz (Idebenone) is a supplement which is widely used for its nootropic effects and reported benefits in improving cognition and memory function. It has been used for senile dementia in Alzheimer's patients. The active component in this medicine is a synthetic chemical which shares similarities with coenzyme Q-10, and it may have anti-aging or antioxidant properties.
Some patients have taken it for Friedrich's ataxia, a disorder which causes nervous system damage, heart disease and speech difficulties. It may also have benefits if used for Leber's disease (also called Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy), an inherited condition which can cause blindness. Clinical trials have taken place to study its effects if used for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and mitochondrial encephalomyopathy.
Dosage and Administration
Norwayz (Idebenone) comes in 45mg strength tablets which are taken orally. The dosage instructions that your doctor gives you must be adhered to. Due to the fact that a variety of conditions can be treated, the required amount may vary, depending on whether it is being taken for Alzheimer's, Friedrech's Ataxia or Leber's disease. Your doctor will individualise the dosage based on your condition when determining a suitable dosage regimen. The prescribed dosage must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
