Each Syntocinon Ampoule contains oxytocin EP (active ingredient). They also contain the following

Syntocinon comes in packs of five ampoules.
Oxytocin belongs to a group of medicines called oxytocics: it makes the muscles of the uterus (womb) contract, helping to push out your baby. It is used in childbirth, in certain types of miscarriage and to prevent or control bleeding after delivery of your baby.
Syntocinon is given as an intravenous infusion (drip) into one of your veins and causes contraction of the muscles of the womb. It may be used:

Precautions
Pitocin (Oxytocin IP) should always be stored in a refrigerator at a temperature between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius to prevent early expiration.
This medicine will be kept in a safe place where children cannot reach it. If your doctor decides to stop your treatment, any unused medicine will be returned to the pharmacist.
Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.
Always use Pitocin (Oxytocin IP) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.
