Uses
Regnite (Gabapentin Enacarbil) is used to treat restless leg syndrome (RLS) and nerve pain occurring as a result of herpes zoster (also called shingles). Patients affected by restless leg syndrome which ranges from moderate to severe in nature may be told to take this medicine to treat their symptoms and provide relief from leg discomfort and the urge to move the legs during the night or while sitting down. Other possible off label uses which are being researched include treating uremic pruritis, menopausal symptoms, multiple sclerosis, bipolar disorder, depression and other conditions which have not been mentioned here.
Dosage and Administration
Regnite (Gabapentin Enacarbil) tablets contain 300mg of the active ingredient. Doctors sometimes instruct patients treating restless leg syndrome to take 2 tablets (equal to 600mg) once per day, with the medicine taken after the consumption of an evening meal. These tablets will slowly release the ingredient into the body, and patients are advised not to break, crush or chew the tablets. It is important that the dosage prescribed is never exceeded.
