Uses
Rizact-5 (Rizatriptan) is a migraine treatment which is indicated for providing relief from pain, nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity, sensitivity to sound and other common symptoms associated with migraines. When taken, this medicine acts in the brain and stimulates the serotonin receptors, causing the blood vessels to become narrower. This leads to a reduction in pain and other migraine symptoms.

Dosage and Administration
Rizact-5 (Rizatriptan) comes as tablets. Some patients may be told by their doctor to administer the first dose in the presence of a doctor, so that the effects of the medicine can be monitored. If your doctor prescribes this medicine to you, you must strictly adhere to the dosage instructions given to you.

This drug is usually taken when the first signs of a migraine headache occur. Generally, a single dose is considered to be sufficient. However, if the migraine headache reoccurs, there is a possibility that your doctor will direct you to take a second dose (at least two hours after the first dose). Patients are normally directed not to take in excess of two doses in any period of 24 hours.

Side effects
Taking Rizact-5 (Rizatriptan) may result in side effects, such as:

• Flushing
• Dryness that affects the mouth
• Sore muscles
• Numbness or a tingling sensation
• A feeling of heaviness noticeable in the body

It is important to tell your doctor about any side effects that occur during treatment. Serious reactions may be possible in some cases, and should this occur, urgent medical care will be needed. Serious side effects which may be experienced by the patient include visual changes, problems balancing or speaking properly, severe pain in the stomach or any other signs of a severe reaction.

Precautions
This medicine is not meant to be used to prevent the occurrence of migraine attacks, and it is also not used to treat basilar or hemiplegic migraines.

This medicine may make the skin more sensitive to sunlight, and because of this, patients are advised not to unnecessarily expose their skin to the sun.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Rizact-5 (Rizatriptan) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you suffer from any allergies.
• If you suffer from any other health conditions or illnesses.
• If you are using any other medicine (including all non-prescription).
• If you are using any supplements, vitamins, or herbal products of any kind.
