Uses
Zelgor (Abiraterone) is a treatment for prostate cancer that is resistant to hormonal or surgical treatment, otherwise known as Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC). Abiraterone needs to be taken in conjunction with prednisone.
Abiraterone helps with the management of prostate cancer by decreasing the productions of androgens (such as testosterone). It does this by inhibiting androgen production at three different sites - the tumor itself, the testes, and the adrenal glands.
Dosage and Administration
Each tablet of Zelgor contains 250mg of Abiraterone Acetate. Follow the dosage instructions exactly as described by your doctor. Usually this will involve one dose per day.
Zelgor (Abiraterone) must be taken without food (on an empty stomach). Avoid eating for two hours before and one hour after taking Abiraterone.
Swallow your Abiraterone tablets whole with a glass of water. The tablets should not be crushed or chewed.
Use contraception while practicing sex with your partner if they are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
