Uses
Accuretic (Quinapril) is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure. It is a combination of two ingredients. The first ingredient (quinapril) is in a class of medicines referred to as angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, and it helps to relax the blood vessels. This leads to a reduction in blood pressure.
These tablets also contain hydrochlorothiazide. This ingredient is a type of thiazide diuretic (often called a water pill), that stops excess salt from being absorbed by the body, thereby preventing fluid retention. By helping to increase urine production by the body, this ingredient allows excess salt and water from the body, which can also contribute to a reduction in high blood pressure. When combined, these two ingredients are effective at treating hypertension and may also be used for other conditions.
