Uses
Dermol Ointment (Clobetasol Propionate) is used to treat severe eczema, psoriasis, chronic itching and other related skin conditions when treatment with other more mild topical corticosteroids have not produced effective results. The ointment is widely considered to be effective for skin which is scaly and dry. Corticosteroids work by acting on the skin cells to reduce the amount of inflammatory substances released, thereby providing relief from swelling, itching and irritation that occurs in skin conditions.

Dosage and Administration
Adult patients who are using Dermol Ointment (Clobetasol Propionate) to treat psoriasis, eczema or any other forms of dermatitis will be told by their doctor how much ointment is needed, as well as how often to apply it and how long treatment will be needed for. The period of treatment may only last for a few days, however, depending on the condition, treatment may need to continue for longer. In some cases, patients are treated in short courses, which may be repeated as necessary. Always follow the instructions of your doctor.

Side effects
Patients who apply Dermol Ointment (Clobetasol Propionate) to the skin to treat their condition may experience side effects, such as:

• Redness
• Itchiness
• A temporary loss of some hair
• Cracks occurring on the skin
• Skin which becomes thinner than normal

Tell your doctor if you experience any side effects after applying this ointment. Although it is less common, serious side effects may occur. You will need to consult your doctor immediately if you experience weakness of the muscles, fatigue, weight gain or any other side effects which have not been mentioned here.

Precautions
See your doctor immediately if your condition becomes worse after applying this ointment.

After application of the ointment, it is essential that the hands are washed, unless a skin condition affecting the hands is being treated.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Dermol Ointment (Clobetasol Propionate) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
