Doverin-40

Uses
Doverin (Drotaverine) is an anti-spasmodic muscle relaxant commonly prescribed for patients suffering from renal colic, as well as to accelerate labour in pregnant women. When used in combination with mefenamic acid it can reduce pain during hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy. In addition it can be used alongside rimantadine to treat influenza type A and B.

Dosage and Administration
Always consult your doctor before using Doverin (Drotaverine), and strictly follow your prescription and any other instructions provided.

A typical dose for adults is between 40mg and 80mg taken up to 3 times per day. Dosage for children is usually around half the dosage prescribed for adult patients.

Tablets should be swallowed whole without being crushed, split, or dissolved into water. Dosing can be done either with or without food.

Side Effects
Side effects of Doverin (Drotaverine) are usually only mild and short lasting. If any side effects persist, worsen, or worry you, inform your doctor promptly. Possible side effects include:

• Headaches
• Dizziness
• Drowsiness
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Constipation
• Hypotension
• Dry mouth
• Vertigo

If you experience a hypersensitive or allergic reaction seek immediate medical attention. Signs of a reaction may include trouble swallowing or breathing, swelling, skin rashes, or hives.

Precautions
Before you begin using Doverin (Drotaverine), inform your doctor of any of the following which apply to you.

• If you are pregnant or trying to conceive a child
• If you are breastfeeding
• If you consume alcohol or smoke tobacco
• Any allergies you have
• Any other existing medical conditions which you suffer from
• Any other drugs, medication, or supplements of any kind which you are taking
