Uses
Tazret Gel (Tazarotene) is used for plaque psoriasis and acne. Some patients have used it for photoaging. It belongs to a class of medicines known as synthetic retinoids and is said to be related to vitamin A. When used for facial acne which is mild to moderate in nature, it can effectively treat blackheads, pustules and whiteheads, allowing the skin to clear up. Experts believe that its mode of action involves reversing follicular hyperkeratinisation, a process in which the cells on the skin surface are prevented from properly shedding, which results in lesions and spots.

By normalizing keritanization, it helps to block the formation of spots and promote the healing of comedones already present on the skin. In psoriasis, patients experience thick flaking on the skin and the formation of raised plaques. This gel may work by affecting the genes responsible for the abnormal cell growth and proliferation, allowing for the normalisation of cell and skin growth and allowing for a reduction in psoriasis symptoms.

Dosage and Administration
Tazret Gel (Tazarotene) is provided in a tube to facilitate easy application. Patients treating acne are usually told to apply it once per day, in the evening. It should only be used on the area of skin where the lesions are visible, and a sufficient amount will be needed to cover the entire area. Doctors also usually recommend once daily treatment for psoriasis, however it should only be used on the lesions. Unaffected parts of the skin should not be treated.
