Ziten

Uses
Ziten (Teneligliptin) is classified as a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. This new class of anti-diabetes medication can help with glycemic control in adults with type-2 diabetes mellitus with minimal risk of hypoglycemia and weight gain.

Dosage and Administration
The starting dosage for most people will be one 20mg tablets per day. This can be increased to a maximum dosage of 40mg per day if needed.

Side effects
Teneligliptin is a very new drug and clinical studies showing side effect profiles are sparse. Studies have found very few side effects. The most common side effects reported were being hypoglycemia and constipation.

Precautions
Because Teneligliptin is such a new drug, not all risks are known.

The risk of hypoglycemia may be increased if Ziten is coadministered with another antidiabetic drug.

There may be a risk of intestinal obstruction, so teneligliptin should be used with caution is patients with a history of intestinal obstruction or abdominal surgery.
