X-Vir (Entecavir) is prescribed as a treatment for chronic hepatitis B. This drug is a type of medicine referred to as a nucleoside analogue. It works by inhibiting the action of the enzyme that the hepatitis virus needs to multiply. This also helps to reduce the volume of the hepatitis B virus in the patient's body, which can help to reduce damage to the liver, while also improving its function.

Dosage and Administration
Patients who have been prescribed X-Vir (Entecavir) must strictly follow the dosage instructions given to them by their doctor. It is possible that you will be told to take it once per day. Each dose should be taken on an empty stomach. You should take it either 2 hours before you eat, or else 2 hours after eating. Regular medical appointments may be scheduled for you by your doctor, to check your liver function. It is essential that you attend all scheduled medical appointments.

Side effects
