Uses
Cefdiel 300 (Cefdinir) is a medicine belonging to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics. It is effective at treating many different types of infections that can occur in the body when these infections are caused by bacteria. Conditions it may be used to treat include community acquired pneumonia, bronchitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, ear infections and infections of the skin. It is essential to note that this medicine will not work on viral infections.

Dosage and Administration
Cefdiel 300 (Cefdinir) capsules are taken by mouth. You must consult your doctor before taking this medicine. This will allow your doctor to thoroughly examine you, so that the correct dosage can be prescribed. Adult patients treating pneumonia may be told to take 300mg every 12 hours, for a period of time which can last from 10 to 14 days. However, this can vary for individual patients, and you must check with your doctor. Other conditions may also require different dosage regimens, and the instructions provided by your doctor must be strictly adhered to. Even if your symptoms improve, you must finish the entire prescribed amount of medicine (unless your doctor tells you otherwise).

Side effects
Patients who take Cefdiel 300 (Cefdinir) as a treatment for bacterial infections may sometimes experience side effects, such as:

• Dizzy sensation
• Indigestion
• Stomach upest
• Appetite loss
• Tiredness

If any of the side effects listed above become serious, you should immediately see your doctor. Other side effects requiring immediate medical attention may also occur. These include seizures, body aches, peeling of the skin, weight gain and breathlessness. You must immediately tell your doctor if this occurs.

Precautions
This medicine may cause red discolouration of the stools. However, tell your doctor immediately if you think that there is blood in your stools.

If you suffer from diarrhoea either during treatment or after you have taken this drug, you should tell your doctor, as it could be a sign that you are suffering from colitis.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Cefdiel 300 (Cefdinir) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
