Uses
Claribid (Clarithromycin) is an antibiotic medicine which is effective against many infections caused by bacteria, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, ear infections, infections of the sinus, skin, throat and elsewhere in the body. It may also be prescribed as a treatment for disseminated MAC (mycobacterium avium complex) infection, and can be used in combination with other drugs to rid the body of Helicobacter pylori, a bacteria which causes stomach ulcers.
Dosage and Administration
Claribid (Clarithromycin) comes as tablets. A full medical assessment will be required before commencing treatment, so that your doctor can prescribe the correct dosage required to treat your infection. It is common for adult patients to be told to take this medicine twice per day (at 12 hour intervals) for a period of time which can range from 7 to 14 days. However, certain conditions may require treatment for a longer period of time. Even if your symptoms improve, you should finish the entire prescribed amount of medicine, as stopping treatment early could result in a return of your symptoms.
