Uses
Gastro-Soothe (Hyoscine Butylbromide) is an antispasmodic medicine which works by reducing spasms. It is indicated for the treatment of stomach aches and pain in the abdomen occurring as a result of muscular spasms that affect the genitor urinary tract or gastro intestinal tract. Patients suffering from these symptoms as a result of irritable bowel syndrome have also taken this medicine to treat their condition. The active ingredient in this drug is a type of tropane alkaloid, used for its muscarinic antagonist properties. It selectively targets muscles in the urinary tract, stomach, intestines and elsewhere in the body, and stops a chemical called acetylcholine from acting on them, thereby reducing spasms.
