Uses

Lopimune tablets contain two antiretroviral drugs (lopinavir and ritonavir) used to treat HIV infection. Lopimune is used in combination with other antiretroviral medicines to human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) infection in adults and children 14 days of age and older.

Dosage and Administration

The usual dosage of Lopimune in adults with HIV inefection is 800mg / 200mg per day. This can be taken as a single once-daily dosage or divided into two twice-daily dosages. Check with your doctor for your specific dosage as this can change dependant on age, other HIV treatments you are taking. Lopimune tablets are swallowed whole with a glass of water. They can be taken with or without food.

Side effects

Treatment of coronavirus or of HIV infection with lopinavir and ritonavir can lead to serious side effects. These include diabetes or high blood sugar, changes to your body`s immune system, increased triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood, changes in body fat levels, increased bleeding, and sever skin rash.

More common side effects are gastrointestinal problems like nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. If you notice any other side effects while taking Lopimune, contact your doctor.

Precautions

Before taking Lopimune make sure to tell your doctor if you have had any pancreatic or hepatic conditions (including hepatitis B or hepatitis C), have any heart problems, have low potassium in your blood, have high cholesterol, have hemophilia, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
