Uses
Mycospor (Bifonazole) is used for skin diseases caused by fungi and bacteria sensitive to the preparation: surface candidiasis and mycoses, dermatophytosis, erythrasma, multicolored lichen. Mycospor (Bifonazole) is a synthetic antifungal drug that belongs to azoles with wide range of actions. The drug has both fungicidal and fungistatic effects, depending on the type of pathogenic fungi. The mechanism of action of Mycospor (Bifonazole) is to damage cell membranes of fungi, suppresses processes of cellular respiration, violation of the synthesis of sterols at two different levels. Susceptible fungi to the drug are the genus Candida spp., Malassezia spp., Scopulariopsis spp., Microsporum spp., Aspergillus spp., Trichophyton spp., Epidemiphyton spp. Sensitive to bifonazole is also a part of cocci and corynebacterium.

Dosage and Administration
Always follow your doctor`s instructions when using Mycospor (Bifonazole) to get the safest and most effective results from treatment.

The drug is used once a day, preferably in the evening before bedtime.

The preparation is applied with a thin layer on the affected area of the skin and carefully rubbed.

To ensure long lasting positive effect, the drug should be administered within a long time periods, even after the symptoms have disappeared. The usual course of treatment is:

  • with mycoses of the feet and interdigital intervals - 3 weeks;
  • with mycoses of smooth skin and folds of the skin - 2-3 weeks;
  • with colored lichen and erythrasma - 2 weeks;
  • with superficial skin candidiasis - 2-4 weeks.

Children

Given the available clinical data, there are no grounds for predicting toxic effects in children. However, children should use the drug only under the supervision of a doctor.

Side effects
General disorders and changes at the place of application. May cause local skin reactions (eg, contact dermatitis), pain and swelling of the skin at the place of application.

From the immune system. In rare cases, systemic hypersensitivity reactions are possible.

From the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Development of contact dermatitis, allergic dermatitis, erythema, eczema, itching of the skin, rash, urticaria, blisters, peeling, dryness, irritation, maceration and sensation of heat on the skin.

All side effects are discontinued after discontinuation of the drug.

Precautions
In the first trimester of pregnancy, use is possible only under strict indications.
