Uses
Regen-D 150 Gel (Epidermal Growth Factor) works by stimulating the growth of cells. It is applied topically to neuropathic diabetic foot ulcers, to promote quicker healing. This gel (which is produced using recombinant DNA technology) speeds up the recovery process and aids skin regeneration and healing. Other uses include being used as a regeneration agent in the treatment of vascular ulcers and bed sores. Some patients have used it for wound healing, and many people believe that it has benefits if used for cosmetic purposes.
Dosage and Administration
If you are treating a diabetic foot ulcer, your doctor will monitor you during treatment as well as providing instructions on how to apply Regen-D 150 Gel (Epidermal Growth Factor) properly. Adults are usually instructed by their doctor to clean the ulcer area and completely cover it with gel.
It should be spread topically by using a sterile swab made of cotton. Doctors usually direct patients to apply it twice per day until the ulcer has healed. This generally means 15 to 20 weeks of treatment, however, the exact period of treatment will be decided upon by the doctor.
Side effects
Regen-D 150 Gel (Epidermal Growth Factor) is usually well tolerated by patients, however, side effects may occur in some cases. If the patient experiences any signs of a severe reaction, immediate medical attention will be required.
Precautions
It is important to make sure that the ulcer is kept as clean as possible throughout treatment. Your doctor may provide you with instructions on how to clean the ulcer and apply proper dressings.
