Uses
Revocon (Tetrabenazine) is used for a wide range of movement disorders, including Huntington's chorea and tardive dyskinesia. It may be used by patients who are suffering from uncontrolled bodily movements caused by antipsychotic medications. Medical experts believe that this drug works by reducing the amount of neurotransmitters in the brain (noradrenaline, dopamine and serotonin). This can help to control involuntary bodily movements and movement disorders which are caused by the brain or nervous system.

Dosage and Administration
Revocon (Tetrabenazine) comes as 25mg tablets. Adults who are being treated for Huntington's disease are sometimes told by their doctor to start out with 12.5mg per day for the first week of treatment, and 12.5mg taken twice per day for the second week. If deemed necessary, further increases to the dosage may be required, however, the maximum dosage must never be exceeded. In all cases, follow the instructions given to you by your doctor.

Side effects
Taking Revocon (Tetrabenazine) can sometimes cause side effects, such as:

• Sneezing
• Anxiety
• Insomnia
• Fatigue or drowsiness
• Swelling of the breast

Serious side effects may occur in some cases. You must immediately seek medical care if you experience problems balancing properly, muscular stiffness, a decrease in urination, changes in behaviour, weight gain or any other serious symptoms.

Precautions
This medicine should never be taken within 14 days of taking an MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor), as this could cause serious side effects.

Alcohol consumption should be avoided while this medicine is being taken, as this could increase drowsiness.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Revocon (Tetrabenazine) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you suffer from any allergies.
• If you suffer from any other health conditions or illnesses.
