Uses
Solox (Lansoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor, which is used to make the stomach produce a reduced quantity of stomach acid. This makes it a commonly prescribed medicine for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, ulcers and other related conditions. Lowering the production of stomach acid provides relief from the conditions listed above, and can also help with the healing process.
Dosage and Administration
Solox (Lansoprazole) capsules are taken by mouth. Doctors usually instruct patients to take the capsule before the consumption of a meal. Patients treating reflux oesophagitis may be told to take 30mg per day, for a period of 4 weeks. If the patient has not fully recovered, a second period of 4 weeks may be prescribed. After this, there is a possibility that the patient will be told to take a maintenance dose of 15mg per day, to prevent symptoms from returning. Other conditions may require different dosage regimens.
