Tilstigmin 15

Uses
Tilstigmin 15 (Neostigmine) is indicated for the treatment of a muscle disease known as myasthenia gravis. Patients affected by this condition suffer from weak muscles, which are caused by the immune system destroying acetylcholine receptors on the cells of the muscles, resulting in a decreased responsiveness to messages sent from the nerves.

Treatment with this medication prevents an enzyme known as cholinesterase from causing the breakdown of acetylcholine, which then helps to improve muscular function. Other conditions for which this medication is prescribed include urinary retention occurring after surgery has taken place and paralyetic ileus.

Dosage and Administration
Tilstigmin 15 (Neostigmine) comes as tablets, which are taken orally. Each tablet contains 15mg of the active ingredient. Your doctor will tell you the right amount required to treat your condition, and it is essential that you strictly follow the dosage regimen that your doctor provides for you. Never exceed the prescribed amount.

Side effects
Patients taking Tilstigmin 15 (Neostigmine) can sometimes experience side effects, and a list of examples is provided here:

• Nausea

• Drowsiness
• Increased urination
• Tingling sensation

If any side effects occur during treatment, notify your doctor. Precautions
Patients with a bowel obstruction, bladder obstruction or peritonitis are not able to take this medication.

Consumption of any alcoholic beverages may increase the drowsiness that this medication causes.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Tilstigmin 15 (Neostigmine) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.
