Uses
Victoza (Liraglutide) is prescribed to treat type 2 diabetes, otherwise known as non-insulin dependant diabetes.
Dosage and administration
Always take as directed by your doctor. Victoza (Liraglutide) is usually taken once a day. For best results it should be used at the same time each day, however this can be any time of the day and does not depend on meal times. Victoza is not for injection intravenously or intramuscularly, and should instead be injected subcutaneously in the thigh, upper arm, or abdomen.
Side effects
Side effects to Victoza (Liraglutide) may include the follow. If any become persistent and bothersome inform your doctor.
Precautions
Ensure your doctor is aware of your full medical history, and of any allergies you have. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
Do not use if you have type 1 diabetes. Victoza (Liraglutide) is for the treatment of type 2 diabetes only.
Whilst taking Victoza, take extra care to avoid hypoglycemia when driving or operating heavy machinery.
Please note that hypoglycemia is not uncommon when used alongside sulphonylurea.
