Zoxan D Eye/Ear Drop (Ciprofloxacin HCL/Dexamethasone) is used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes or ears, including swimmer`s ear. It consists of ciprofloxacin hydrochloride, a quinolone antibiotic, and dexamethasone, an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid. Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride fights and eliminates the bacteria causing the infection, and dexamethasone helps to alleviate the associated symptoms such as itching, redness, and swelling.
When treating any infection there is a risk of the infection returning more severe. To guard against this, always take as prescribed and complete the full course of Zoxan D Eye/Ear Drop (Ciprofloxacin HCL/Dexamethasone), even if symptoms have disappeared.
The most common prescription is two daily applications taken approximately 12 hours apart.
