Uses
Anawin 0.5% Injection (Bupivacaine) is used as a local anaesthetic and it works by stopping pain signals from being sent to the brain. It is indicated for the management of acute pain or as a surgical anaesthetic. This medicine has been widely given as an epidural injection to reduce pain caused by labour or other surgical procedures (such as an arthroplasty of the hip).

Use of this drug can also produce anaesthesia by means of percutaneous infiltration and nerve block. Doctors have administered it to surgical wounds after surgery, so as to lessen pain and aid the patient's recovery. In some cases, it has been administered alongside other medicines, so as to prolong its effects. The active ingredient in this anaesthetic medication is in a group of medicines referred to as amino amides.

Dosage and Administration
Anawin 0.5% Injection (Bupivacaine) is administered in a hospital by a doctor or other fully qualified medical professional. It must not be injected by the patient. The required dosage will vary greatly, due to the fact that it can be used for different conditions. Some patients may be treated with a single dose, however, other patients may require more than this. In all cases, your doctor will decide the correct concentration required as well as the correct dosage.
