Uses
Ultraproct Ointment (Cinchocaine/Fluocortolone) is indicated for the treatment of haemorrhoids. This ointment is a combination of two different ingredients, both of which work differently to provide relief from pain, itching and inflammation caused by haemorrhoids.
Cinchocaine is a local anaesthetic, which works by numbing the application site. The other ingredient in this product is a corticosteroid medication, which can effectively reduce inflammation. By preventing the body from releasing certain substances which cause redness, itching and inflammation, this medicine can help to relieve inflammation and itching caused by haemorrhoids.
Dosage and Administration
It is essential to wash your hands prior to applying Ultraproct Ointment (Cinchocaine/Fluocortolone) and after application. You may also be instructed to wash the anus and the surrounding area gently before using the ointment. In most cases, adults are told by their doctor to apply it twice per day, however, some doctors may tell their patients that they can apply it 3 to 4 times per day on the first day of treatment, so as to provide rapid relief from symptoms. Patients are also usually told not to use this ointment for more than 7 days.
Side effects
Ultraproct Ointment (Cinchocaine/Fluocortolone) may cause skin thinning or adrenal suppression. Report all side effects to your doctor immediately. In rare cases, severe reactions which will require immediate medical treatment may occur.
Precautions
This ointment is only to be used on the anus, for the treatment of haemorrhoids. It should never be ingested.
