Main Use Active Ingredient Marketed Name
Preventing asthma symptoms Beclometasone Dipropionate Beclazone Inhaler

Uses
Beclazone Inhaler (Beclometasone Dipropionate) is used for asthma. It is known as a preventer, meaning that it is to be used as part of a regular dosage schedule (even if no symptoms are present) to prevent the occurrence of wheezing and other symptoms of asthma. The active ingredient in this inhaler is a corticosteroid. When inhaled, it goes to work in the lungs and starts to decrease inflammation of the small airways.

Patients affected by asthma may experience breathing difficulties due to tightening of the airways. By stopping the release of chemicals that produce the inflammatory reaction, it helps to lessen inflammation of the airways. However, it is worth noting that it will not work to relieve an ongoing asthma attack. It is only indicated for the maintenance and control of asthma, so as to help reduce breathing problems. Regular use may reduce the inconvenience and discomfort that often occurs due to asthma attacks.

Dosage and Administration
Beclazone Inhaler (Beclometasone Dipropionate) is provided as a solution contained in an inhalation device. Sufficient medicine is provided to administer 200 metered doses. Each dose will deliver 100mcg of medicine. Your doctor will provide you with a dosage schedule. Deciding on the proper dosage is always done by a doctor. This will ensure the safest and most effective results possible. To inhale the medicine, remove the cap from the mouthpiece and shake the device.

Holding the inhaler straight between the thumb and first finger (which should be placed on the canister), you may exhale fully and then place the inhaler in the mouth. As you start to inhale slowly and steadily, press down on the canister to release the medicine, and continue to inhale. Remove the inhaler and hold your breath for as long as 10 seconds. If a second dose has been deemed necessary by your doctor, allow another minute before administering it.

Side effects
Use of Beclazone Inhaler (Beclometasone Dipropionate) to control and prevent asthma (or other breathing conditions) symptoms could lead to side effects, such as:

  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Hoarse voice
  • Irritation of the tongue
  • Problems related to speaking

Stay alert for signs of side effects while using this inhaler, and remember that any reaction you experience should be reported to your doctor. However, there are certain side effects which are considered to be serious in nature. You must go to your doctor immediately if you experience visual disturbances, signs of an infection, a persistent cold, asthma which is worse than before, changes in behaviour or any reactions that have not been mentioned here.

Precautions
Delayed growth may occur in younger patients treated with corticosteroid medicines for an extended period of time. This needs to be taken into account by the doctor who is deciding on appropriate treatment options for asthma.

If your doctor has told you that a quick relief inhaler (sometimes called a reliever) is needed as well as this one, you must continue to keep it with you and use it in accordance with the instructions of your doctor.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Beclazone Inhaler (Beclometasone Dipropionate) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
