Uses
Benzyl Benzoate (Benzyl Benzoate) is a liquid which is applied topically to the skin as a treatment for scabies. Scabies is caused by a tiny mite, and symptoms of this condition include severe itchiness, red spots on the skin, and in some cases, infection. This solution acts on the nervous system of the mites, and destroys them, which leads to the eventual treatment of the infection. Another use for this product is treating lice infestations occurring on the head and elsewhere in the body.
Dosage and Administration
Benzyl Benzoate (Benzyl Benzoate) is applied directly to the affected area, in accordance with the instructions provided by your doctor. When used to treat scabies, you may be directed by your doctor to apply it to clean, dry skin. It is usually applied to the entire body, from the neck downwards, including the feet and the soles. The medicine should remain on the body for a period of 24 hours, after which the body should be washed with soap and hot water. To treat lice, you may be directed to apply it to the hair and scalp (which should be clean and dry). After 24 hours, the hair and scalp should be washed with shampoo. It may then be dried, after which a fine toothed comb may be used to remove the lice and their eggs.
