Uses
Betaloc CR (Metoprolol Succinate) is used for angina, heart failure and hypertension. It is a beta blocker which works by reducing blood pressure and the workload of the heart. The active ingredient in this medicine functions as a selective adrenergic beta-1 blocker. Its effects in the treatment of high blood pressure may be due to reducing cardiac output and other effects. It also decreases the amount of oxygen needed by the heart, which makes it useful in the management of angina.
Other uses for this medicine include treating acute myocardial infarction, ventricular tachycardia, migraine headaches and other conditions which have not been listed here. Studies have taken place to determine its effects if used for social anxiety and other related conditions. Other medical researchers have conducted research based on its use for the control of symptoms related to hyperthyroidism.
