Uses
Brufen SR (Ibuprofen) is used to provide relief from pain and inflammation. Patients have used it to relieve pain caused by injuries, toothaches, headaches, muscular aches, arthritis, menstrual pain and other causes. It may sometimes be used for the flu. This drug is called a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and it treats pain by stopping the production of the substances in the body that cause pain and inflammation, known as prostaglandins.
Dosage and Administration
Brufen SR (Ibuprofen) tablets contain 800mg of the active ingredient. Patients treating osteoarthritis are sometimes told by their doctor to take 400mg to 800mg at 6 to 8 hour intervals. Other conditions may need a different dosage, and patients must always follow the dosage instructions given by their doctor.
