Uses
Ciplox (Ciprofloxacin) tablets are prescribed for treating many different types of bacterial infections, and are considered to be especially effective at fighting gram negative bacteria (such as salmonella). Chest, urinary tract, respiratory tract, ear and many other infections in the body are treated with this drug. Other conditions, such as gonorrhoea, infected abscesses and soft tissue infections may be treated with this drug.
In some cases, those who may have inhaled anthrax spores may be treated with this medicine, as a preventative measure. The main ingredient in this medicine is a type of fluoroquinolone antibiotic, which works by attacking the bacteria responsible for causing the infection.
Dosage and Administration
Ciplox (Ciprofloxacin) comes in the form of 500mg tablets, which must be taken in strict compliance with the prescribing doctor's instructions. After a medical consultation, your doctor will prescribe a dosage regimen to you, based on which condition you are treating, as well as other factors.
Adults treating bronchitis which is considered to be mild or moderate in nature are often directed to take 500mg at 12 hour intervals (twice per day). Treatment will generally last for 7 to 14 days. Infectious diarrhoea is usually treated with a dose of 500mg taken every 12 hours, for a period of 5 to 7 days. Other conditions may require different doses. The dosage guides given here are only examples, and in all cases, patients must consult their doctor in order to determine the correct dosage.

Precautions
