Uses
Eptus 50 (Eplerenone) is used to treat chronic mild heart failure and heart failure in patients who have recently suffered from a heart attack. In addition to this, it may be used on its own or with other drugs to treat high blood pressure. This drug is a type of aldosterone antagonist, and it works by inhibiting the action of the hormone (known as aldosterone) which is involved in controlling blood pressure. This results in a lowering of blood pressure, and can also contribute to a reduction in heart failure symptoms.
Dosage and Administration
Specific dosage regimens are required for patients undergoing treatment with Eptus 50 (Eplerenone) tablets. After visiting your doctor, make sure that you only take the amount that has been prescribed to you. In some cases, adult patients treating high blood pressure have been instructed to take 50mg once per day. If a satisfactory response has not been achieved, the prescribing doctor may direct the patient to take 50mg twice per day. Patients affected by heart failure may be told to take 25mg once per day, which may be increased to 50mg per day.
