Uses
Olmecip (Olmesartan Medoxomil) is used to reduce high blood pressure (sometimes referred to by doctors as hypertension). This drug is in a group of medications called angiotensin receptor blockers, and it works by relaxing the blood vessels, thereby allowing the blood to flow more easily. Improving the blood flow helps to lower high blood pressure, which can help to prevent serious health complications.

Dosage and Administration
Olmecip (Olmesartan Medoxomil) tablets are administered orally. Usually, adult patients are told by the prescribing doctor to take it once per day. You are advised to take it at the same time every day. Never exceed the dosage prescribed by your doctor. It is important to note that it can take 2 weeks of treatment with this drug before you notice the full effects. Although this drug can help to keep high blood pressure under control, it will not cure it. Because of this, patients must continue taking it as prescribed, and should not cease treatment unless told to do so by their doctor.

Side effects
Some side effects which have been reported by patients taking Olmecip (Olmesartan Medoxomil) include:

• Dizziness
• Muscle aches
• Weakness
• Pain in the back
• Itching sensation affecting the skin

Inform your doctor if any side effects occur. Patients should note that severe side effects which require medical attention may be experienced. Examples include a reduction in urination, swelling of the limbs and pain in the chest. Other serious reactions not mentioned here may also occur.

Precautions
Taking this medication may cause an increase in potassium levels. Therefore, you must not take potassium supplements without first telling your doctor.

Prior to taking this medicine, it is essential that you tell your doctor if you suffer from or have ever suffered from heart problems, kidney disease or any illness affecting the liver.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Olmecip (Olmesartan Medoxomil) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
