Jardiance

Uses
Jardiance 10mg is used to help control blood sugar levels in diabetics. It can be taken by adults with type-2 diabetes mellitus (adult-onset diabetes or non-insulin-dependent diabetes). It contains the active ingredient Empagliflozin.

Dosage and Administration
Jardiance comes in a strip of 10 x 10mg tablets. These 10mg tablets are often used as a starting dosage. Jardiance 25mg tablets are also available for people who require a higher dosage.

Side effects
Jardiance can cause some potentially serious side effects. Be aware of any of the following and seek medical assistance if any occur:

• dehydration
• ketoacidosis
• serious urinary tract infections
• yeast infections of the vagina or penis

Jardiance can cause hypoglycemia, especially when it is being taken with other medicines that can reduce blood sugars (eg. sulfonylurea or insulin).

Jardiance can cause increased cholesterol levels in some people.

Precautions
Some people may not be suitable candidates for Jardiance. Before beginning treatment, make sure your doctor know if:

• you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
• you have any kidney problems, liver problems or pancreatic problems
• you have a history of urinary tract infections
