Jardiance

Uses
Jardiance 25mg is diabetes medicine that can help to control blood sugar levels in adults with type-2 diabetes mellitus (also called adult-onset diabetes or non insulin-dependent diabetes). Jardiance contains the active ingredient Empagliflozin, a drug of the gliflozin class.

Dosage and Administration
Jardiance comes in a strip of 10 x 25mg tablets. These 25mg tablets are often used if Jardiance 10mg tablets are not having a sufficient effect. Jardiance 10mg tablets are also available and are usually used as a starting dosage.

Side effects
Jardiance can cause some unwanted side effects. These can include:

• dehydration
• ketoacidosis
• serious urinary tract infections
• yeast infections of the vagina or penis
• hypoglycemia (especially when combined with other blood sugar reducing medicines)
• hypercholesterolemia

Precautions
Jardiance is only indicated in the treatment of type-2 diabetes. It is not to be used for type-1 (insulin-dependant diabetes).

Tell your doctor are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Jardiance.

If you have any kidney problems, liver problems, pancreatic problems or a history of urinary tract infections make sure your doctor is aware of this.
