Uses
Kelo-Cote Solaire Gel (Octinoxate/Octisalate/Octocrylene/Oxybenzone) is prescribed for use by patients with scars to help heal scar tissue, making the scar less visible, and softening any irritation, pain or discomfort. As well as general scaring this product is often used for hypertrophic, keloid scars which are a result of surgery, burns, or pregnancy.
It is a silicone based gel which leaves a breathable, flexible, and water-resistant layer of gel which lasts for 12 hours. It can be used over joints and hairy areas of skin with no problems, and is safe for use by both children and those with sensitive skin.
This gel has all the benefits of other products but with the added effects of offering protection from the sun, which helps to protect the scar and promote better results. It may be used alongside other products, as prescribed by your doctor.
Dosage and Administration
Always administer Kelo-Cote Solaire Gel (Octinoxate/Octisalate/Octocrylene/Oxybenzone) as advised by your doctor. Different patients may require different dosages based on their medication history and current physical condition.
Before you apply the gel, clean the area to be treated and leave to dry. Apply a thin layer over the scar(s) to be treated, and then leave uncovered for 5 minutes to allow the gel to dry.
For best results, apply the gel twice a day, 12 hours apart, in the morning and in the evening. As the gel's protective layer lasts for 12 hours, this means the scar will be constantly protected, allowing for improvements to be seen quick.
