Ketorol 10

Uses
Ketorol 10 (Ketorolac) is used to provide short term relief from pain which is moderate to severe in nature, for example, pain occurring as a result of a surgical procedure. This drug is known as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and it acts in the body by inhibiting the action of COX (cyclo-oxygenase, a substance that plays a part in producing prostaglandins). As prostaglandins can trigger inflammation, swelling and pain, blocking their production helps to treat these symptoms.

Dosage and Administration
In some cases, patients who are being treated for pain with Ketorol 10 (Ketorolac) are not given the tablets to begin treatment with, and are instead started out with an injectable form of the drug which is given by a doctor. However, when the tablets are prescribed, adults are sometimes instructed to take 10mg by mouth, 4 times per day. Doctors do not prescribe doses in excess of 40mg per day.

Side effects
Patients who are treated with Ketorol 10 (Ketorolac) may sometimes experience side effects, such as:

• Bloating
• Perspiration
• Spinning sensation
• Digestive disturbances
• Hearing a ringing noise

You must tell your doctor if any side effects occur. It is also possible that some patients may experience severe reactions. You will need medical care immediately if you notice bloody urine, pain when urinating, blisters, fever, bruising or any other serious symptoms.

Precautions
This medicine may increase the risk of a stroke or heart attack in some patients. It is also possible that severe intestinal bleeding or bleeding from the stomach may occur.

This medicine is not prescribed for use as a long term treatment for pain.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Ketorol 10 (Ketorolac) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you suffer from any allergies.
• If you suffer from any other health conditions or illnesses.
• If you are using any other medicine (including all non-prescription).
• If you are using any supplements, vitamins, or herbal products of any kind.
