Uses
Levolin Inhaler (Levosalbutamol) has a bronchodilator effect, meaning that it allows the muscles to become wider (known as dilation). As a result of this, resistance in the airways is reduced leading to an increased flow of air to the lungs. It is widely used in the management and control of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other breathing difficulties, so as to prevent bronchospasm.

This medicine works by triggering the activation of protein kinase A, causing a decrease in the concentration of intracellular ionic calcium, allowing the smooth muscles present in the airways (including the trachea and terminal bronchioles) to relax, thereby increasing air flow to the lungs. Patients treated with it may find it easier to breath, and may also notice a reduction in coughing, wheezing and other common symptoms of asthma.

Dosage and Administration
Levolin Inhaler (Levosalbutamol) comes provided with an inhaler capable of delivering metered doses. It also features a dose counter so as to allow you to keep track of the doses delivered. Your doctor will tell you how to properly deliver each dose and it is necessary to ensure that you know how to properly administer it. Each dose should be inhaled into the lungs.

Due to the fact that each patient`s requirements may differ, it is important to only administer the amount of medicine your doctor tells you to. Adults treating bronchospasms may be told to administer 1 to 2 inhalations per day. The dosage for preventing an exercise induced bronchospasm may differ. In all cases, determining the correct dosage will be decided by your doctor.

Side effects
Treating breathing difficulties with Levolin Inhaler (Levosalbutamol) may cause:

• Anxiety
• Tremors
• Nasal congestion
• Muscular soreness
• A feeling of dryness in the mouth

Notify your doctor of any reactions that you experience after administering this medicine. Although it is considered to be a less common occurrence, dangerous reactions that will require immediate treatment may occur. Examples of this include severely high blood pressure, low potassium levels, a worsening of bronchospasms and other reactions that have not been mentioned here.

Precautions
If you experience wheezing or other breathing problems right after inhaling this medicine, you will need to seek medical treatment immediately.
