Uses
Quetapel (Quetiapine Fumarate) is an antipsychotic medication used to treat chronic psychoses such as schizophrenia, as well as many of the symptoms associated with bipolar disorder. The active ingredient in these tablets is known as an atypical antipsychotic, and it works by rebalancing the levels of chemicals in the brain to restore normal levels and reduce symptoms associated with this condition. As a result of this, abnormal dopamine activity in the central nervous system believed to be responsible for psychotic illnesses is reduced. In some cases, patients have been treated with this medicine for depression (major depressive disorder).
