R-Cinex

Uses
R-Cinex (Isoniazid/Rifampin) is a combination of two ingredients, and is used to treat tuberculosis. Tuberculosis, or TB is a severe infection caused by mycobacteria, affecting the lungs and occasionally other parts of the body. Both of the active ingredients in this product are antibiotics, which work by fighting and eliminating tuberculosis bacteria.

Dosage and administration
R-Cinex (Isoniazid/Rifampin) capsules should be swallowed whole, with a glass of water. Take this medication on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before you eat, or 2 hours after eating. Follow the instructions of your doctor. Most patients will be instructed to dose once per day. You may be directed to take this medication for a period of several months, or in some cases, even longer. It is necessary to continue taking this drug for the entire duration of the prescription, even if your symptoms improve. Otherwise, your condition may worsen, or the bacteria may develop a resistance to the antibiotics. You should also take care not to miss any doses, as this may cause unpleasant symptoms when you begin taking the medication again.

Side effects
You may notice some side effects while being treated with R-Cinex (Isoniazid/Rifampin), such as:

• Discolouration of urine, tears and/or sweat
• Dizziness or difficulty concentration
• Changes in vision
• Pain in the arms, legs, feet or hands
• Menstrual period irregularities

Patients should inform their doctor if they notice any side effects. Other side effects which are more serious can also occur. See your doctor as soon as possible if you notice appetite loss, severe vomiting, seizures or any other signs of side effects not mentioned here.

Precautions
In rare cases, this drug may cause serious liver disease. The risk of this is higher in some patients. Your doctor may need to carry out tests on your liver function before you begin using this drug.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use R-Cinex (Isoniazid/Rifampin) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you suffer from any allergies.
• If you suffer from any other health conditions or illnesses.
• If you are using any other medicine (including all non-prescription).
• If you are using any supplements, vitamins, or herbal products of any kind.
