Terol LA 2

Uses
Terol LA-2 (Tolterodine) is prescribed to treat urinary incontinence, frequent urination and the urgent need to urinate when these symptoms occur as a result of an overactive bladder. This drug is an antimuscarinic, and it helps to relax a certain muscle in the bladder (known as the detrusor muscle). Overactivity of this muscle can cause urination problems, however, by helping it to relax, this medicine can help to reduce the need to urinate.

Dosage and Administration
Patients who are prescribed Terol LA-2 (Tolterodine) extended release capsules for the treatment of urinary incontinence must follow the instructions given by their doctor. In some cases, adults treating this condition may be told to take 4mg, once per day. A maintenance dose will then be prescribed, based on the response to treatment, and the usual maintenance dose is 2mg to 4mg per day. In all cases, the dosage instructions given by the prescribing doctor must be strictly followed.

Side effects
Taking Terol LA-2 (Tolterodine) to treat urinary problems may sometimes cause:

• Dizziness
• Constipation
• Blurred vision
• Soreness of the joints
• Dryness affecting the mouth or eyes

You must tell your doctor about any side effects that occur. Some patients who take this drug may experience serious side effects which require immediate medical attention. Go and see your doctor immediately if you experience hallucinations, pain when urinating, decreased urination or any other signs of a serious reaction.

Precautions
Consumption of alcoholic beverages may increase some of the side effects of this drug.

These capsules should be swallowed whole and not chewed or crushed.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Terol LA-2 (Tolterodine) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you suffer from any allergies.
• If you suffer from any other health conditions or illnesses.
• If you are using any other medicine (including all non-prescription).
• If you are using any supplements, vitamins, or herbal products of any kind.
