Uses
Trima (Moclobemide) is prescribed to patients to treat depression, anxiety and other similar mental conditions. It is widely believed that depression occurs due to an imbalance of natural chemicals in the brain, such as serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline. This drug is in a class of medicines called reversible inhibitors of monoamine oxidase type A (RIMA). It works by inhibiting the actions of an enzyme called monoamine oxidase A. This leads to an increase in the levels of serotonin and other natural chemicals in the brain, which may contribute to an easing of depression symptoms.
Dosage and Administration
You need to consult your doctor before you take Trima (Moclobemide) so your doctor can determine the correct dosage. In some cases, doctors recommend that patients treating depression take 300mg per day, divided into two doses. Those treating anxiety may be instructed by their doctor to take 150mg twice per day for 3 days, which may then be increased to 300mg twice per day. Only take the amount that your doctor has prescribed.
