Uses
Zevert (Betahistine) is indicated for the treatment of a condition referred to as Meniere's syndrome. Patients affected by this condition suffer from symptoms such as vertigo, a ringing noise in the ears (tinnitus) and a loss of hearing. It is believed that these symptoms are caused by excess levels of fluid present in the inner ear, which cause pressure, thereby triggering the symptoms mentioned above. This drug is a type of histamine analogue, and it aims to treat these conditions by causing an improvement in the flow of blood into the inner ear, thereby lowering the amount of pressure built up.
Dosage and Administration
Patients treating Meniere's syndrome with Zevert (Betahistine) tablets must first go and see their doctor. After conducting a thorough medical examination, the doctor will be able to prescribe the appropriate dosage. In some cases, adults have been instructed to take 16mg, 3 times per day, and it is also possible that the doctor will recommend taking the tablets with meals and a glass of water.
