Uses
Allegra (Fexofenadine HCL) is in a class of medicines known as histamine H1 receptor antagonists. However, it is commonly referred to as an antihistamine, as it works by blocking histamine receptors and preventing histamine from binding to the mast cells. This can prevent and relieve sneezing, rhinorrhoea, watering of the eyes and other allergy symptoms, and makes this medicine a popular choice in the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria and other conditions. Many people use it during pollen season, when allergy symptoms are at their worst. Another benefit of this medicine is that the likelihood of drowsiness is significantly reduced.

Dosage and Administration
Allegra (Fexofenadine HCL) comes provided as 120mg tablets which need to be administered orally. Your doctor will provide clear instructions related to the correct dosage. It is necessary to take the tablets alongside water. Adult patients may sometimes be directed to administer a dosage that consists of 60mg (taken twice per day) or else 180mg once per day. It is also possible that the doctor may direct the patient to take 120mg once per day when treating seasonal allergic rhinitis. However, you must never take more than the amount recommended by the doctor.

Side effects
