Uses
Aricept Evess (Donepezil Hydrochloride) is prescribed for treating dementia in Alzheimer's patients. Taking this medication may help to treat symptoms such as loss of memory, confusion and changes in behaviour (however, it is essential to note that it is not a cure for this condition, and although it may slow down the loss of these functions, it will not prevent them from being lost altogether). The active ingredient in this drug is a type of acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, and it works by preventing a substance that is important to the brain function (acetylcholine) from being broken down.

Dosage and Administration
Aricept Evess (Donepezil Hydrochloride) comes in the form of special disintegrating tablets, which you place carefully on your tongue, and allow them to disintegrate, after which they may be swallowed (water is not necessary, however, if you wish to take it with water, you may do so). In most cases, adult patients are told by their doctor to start out by taking 5mg once per day (at night time, just before bed). After you have been taking the medicine for a period of 1 month, you may be told to take 10mg per day (also taken at bedtime). Always follow the instructions given to you by your doctor.

Side effects
Certain patients undergoing treatment with Aricept Evess (Donepezil Hydrochloride) may experience side effects, such as:

• Appetite loss
• Hallucinations
• Stomach discomfort
• Uncontrolled urination
• Unusually aggressive behaviour

You should inform your doctor about any side effects which occur. In some cases, rare (but serious) side effects may be experienced by patients, and if this happens, immediate medical attention will be required. Examples of this include seizures, bleeding in the intestines or stomach, ulcers, as well as various other reactions which have not been listed here.

Precautions
It is worth noting that treatment should not be stopped (unless on the advice of a doctor), as this will cause the benefits of treatment to cease. However, while you are taking this drug, regular medical assessments will be scheduled by your doctor, to determine the effectiveness of the treatment.

This medication should not be taken alongside alcoholic beverages, as alcohol may alter its effects.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Aricept Evess (Donepezil Hydrochloride) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you suffer from any allergies.
• If you suffer from any other health conditions or illnesses.
• If you are using any other medicine (including all non-prescription).
• If you are using any supplements, vitamins, or herbal products of any kind.
