Uses
Carloc (Carvedilol) is a beta blocker indicated for the treatment of heart failure, hypertension (high blood pressure) and left ventricular dysfunction in certain patients. Its antihypertensive benefits (as well as other effects) are achieved by means of blocking the beta receptors. This in turn helps to act on the circulation and heart, by causing the blood vessels to become wider and lowering the strain on the heart, which makes it useful in the treatment of high blood pressure. These effects can also make it beneficial in the prevention of angina attacks.
Dosage and Administration
Carloc (Carvedilol) is provided as 25mg tablets which are taken by mouth. The exact dosage needed will be different for everybody. Your doctor will decide the most suitable dosage required to treat your symptoms. Adults undergoing treatment for angina are sometimes directed to begin treatment with an initial dosage consisting of 6.25mg, taken twice per day. This may be adjusted if the doctor deems necessary, and for maintenance treatment, the dosage generally ranges from 6.25mg to 25mg twice per day. Other conditions may be treated with a different dosage.
