Uses
Carloc (Carvedilol) tablets are widely used to treat patients affected by various conditions, including high blood pressure and heart failure. Reducing high blood pressure is important, as it can help to prevent heart attacks, strokes and other serious health complications from occurring. This medication is a beta blocker, and it works by affecting the circulation and the heartbeat. It reduces the rate at which the heart beats, thereby contributing to a reduction in blood pressure, and can also make it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body, which makes this drug effective for treating heart failure.
Dosage and Administration
Carloc (Carvedilol) comes in the form of tablets, each of which contains 6.25mg of the active ingredient. The dosage require can vary considerably, and you will need to see your doctor for a medical assessment in order to find out the proper dose. Adults treating heart failure are often told to start out with a dose of 3.125mg taken twice per day, for a period of 2 weeks. The dosage may then be adjusted to 6.25mg per day. If necessary, the prescribing doctor may increase the dosage every 2 weeks, in order to obtain the best results. However, doctors will never prescribe more than 50mg taken twice per day. Other conditions may require different dosages, and you must ask your doctor for more details. Never suddenly stop taking this drug, as this could be dangerous. Instead, consult your doctor, as your dosage may need to be reduced over a period of time.
