Uses
Carvidon MR (Trimetazidine HCL) is primarily used to treat Angina pectoris (Chronic stable angina) on a long term basis. It may also be used for other indications such as Adjuvant symptomatic treatment for vertigo and tinnitus, as well as adjuvant treatment of visual disorders of a circulatory origin. Trimetazidine is an antianginal metabolic agent which can halt the patient's blood pressure from rapidly changing in a safe manner, decreasing the frequency of heart attacks and the use of nitrates.
Carvidon (Trimetazidine HCL ) is not a cure for angina attacks and is not meant to be used as a starter treatment for unstable angina pectoris.
Dosage and Administration
Use Carvidon MR (Trimetazidine HCL)as directed by your doctor. Do not share this drug with other people even if they have the same condition and symptoms.
Never double your dosage to compensate for a missed dose. Take your missed dose as soon as you remember, if it is too close to your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal.
The normal prescription is twice daily, one in the morning after breakfast, and one in the evening after dinner.
Side effects
Carvidon MR (Trimetazidine HCL) is generally well tolerated with no reported drug interactions to date.
The most common experienced side effects are headaches, vertigo, nausea and gastric discomfort.
Notify your doctor if you experience any side effects which become bothersome or persistent.
Precautions
