Uses
Nicardia Retard (Nifedipine) is used to prevent angina (chest pain). Taking these tablets regularly may reduce the occurrence of angina attacks. The other main use for this drug is treating hypertension (high blood pressure). This medication works by allowing the blood vessels to relax, a consequence of which is that the heart does not need to pump as hard as it normally would. It also increases the oxygen supply to the heart.
Dosage and Administration
It is very important that Nicardia Retard (Nifedipine) tablets are taken strictly as prescribed. You must visit your doctor first, so that the proper dosage can be prescribed. Patients are usually instructed to take it 3 times per day. However, your doctor may deem it necessary to start you off with a low dosage, which may then be gradually increased. Continued treatment is required in order for it to be effective. When prescribing this drug, your doctor will most likely tell you not to stop taking it without first consulting him or her, as gradual reduction of the dosage may be required.

See your doctor straight away if this occurs.
