Uses
Clincitop Gel (Clindamycin) is a topical treatment for acne, lesions caused by acne and pimples. In addition to this, it may be prescribed to treat bacterial infections of the skin. The main ingredient in this gel, clindamycin phosphate, is an antibiotic which works by fighting the bacteria that causes acne (called propionebacterium acnes). It attacks and destroys the bacteria, which in turn leads to a reduction in the swelling of the sebaceous glands, and also reduces spots, thereby allowing the skin to properly heal.
Dosage and Administration
Clincitop Gel (Clindamycin) should be applied exactly as your doctor tells you. After a medical consultation, you will be instructed on how long you need to apply this topical gel for. In most cases, patients are told to wash the face with a mild cleansing solution, after which it should be gently dried using a clean towel. The gel may then be applied to the affected area, either once per day or as directed by your doctor. It is worth noting that several weeks of treatment are usually required before an improvement in acne is noticed. If your condition does not improve after this (or if it worsens), you should tell your doctor.
